Claudia and I are visiting family in southern California. It’s raining outside while we play Scrabble and Taboo and watch movies. I hope all of you are warm and safe, enjoying the beauty of the season and the company of family and friends. To all who celebrate it, I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks Jan — Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Michael,
A good way to start enjoying the beauty of the season is with those endless terraces of trees in mist and subtle coloring. Thanks for your really fine, creative images this past year and am looking forward to the ones in the new year plus the inspiration and guidance from your descriptions of how you made them (and again, thanks for the easily seen exif data that provide hints of choices made).
May your holiday opponents not come at you with too many seven-letter words! 🙂
Thank you Andrys — happy holidays to you!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Michael. I love this photo.
Thank you Juls — Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year to you Michael. Hope your time with family is enjoyable. I’m taking a short breather from Christmas next door with neighbors-friends-family. Will go back over in a little while to enjoy the madness and din of all the kids, presents and wild joy.
Thank you David — hope you had a great time with the neighbors, friends, and family, and all the best to you in the new year!

I, too, am in SoCal, but for the with the wife’s family, but for the first time, on the way down, we spend Christmas eve and Christmas in Yosemite. Christmas eve was wonderful. Here is one image:

More on that page, too. It was our second time in the Yosemite for winter, and the first time we had such great light from a clearing storm.
Have a wonderful New Year and maybe I’ll see you there in May
Aram
Thanks Aram, and Happy New Year! I’m glad you got to photograph Yosemite with snow and mist — special conditions, for sure.
Aram, that’s a beautiful photo!
(I’ve seen people come in an post nothing but links to their own photos and hardly say hello, and wondered about that, but this one had nice context and that photo has a wonderful mood. )
